If you have measured part of the drawing and it seems to use inches measurements, then it sounds like the original units setting was wrong and you shouldn't need to do anything else. This does not change any of the measurements in the drawing. So the first thing you need to do is change the drawing units (from that drop down list on the toolbar), to Inches. Sometimes the DXF units setting may say one thing, but the measurements used in the drawing itself may be different. This (and the warning message when opening a file), is not always a reliable way of telling what the units should be. The Units drop down selection on the toolbar shows you what the current drawing units are set to. If there is confusion about what units are drawing is on, I find the easiest way is to check is to use the Tools - Measure operation to measure part of the drawing and see if it is what you would expect. I'm still using the latest stable version of CamBam with half of my trials left.
